Spring Break [Day 3]

Hey guys, just wanted to take a minute and say thank you to everyone reading these updates, praying for us, and going on this journey with us from afar. We really appreciate you guys and keep the prayers coming because we need them and we still have a couple days of ministering to the people of Columbus. So keep it coming!

I just want to share a couple of thoughts and insights from the day yesterday as the update for today. Kind of like what I did on the first update. So here it goes.

1.) God is good. Period. As children of God, we need to start taking the authority that we have, in knowing who we are in Jesus, and declaring that goodness of God. God’s goodness is not a matter of whether He’s in a good mood or not or whether His will is to be good in a certain situation or not. It’s a matter of his children declaring that goodness and partnering with Him in a way that manifests that goodness around us. The way we were meant to. More on that here on my post about Co-Laboring with God.

2.) When people are praying for a creative miracle over somebody else. Whether you’re the giver or recipient of the prayer, the focus of the prayer should be manifesting the love of Jesus. The context of that love is going to be a healing miracle, or restoration, or a financial miracle, etc.; but the focus is motor that drives it is the love of Jesus. What this enables is that the miracle you’re seeking is one that can always be accomplished. Regardless of if the healing miracle was received or if they got the job you were praying for, you can always make sure that they feel the love of Jesus. The other things are just icing on the cake.

3.) Praying for the miraculous is like asking for a deposit in our bank account. When we pray for the miracle, God deposits that miracle into our account. When we press into intimacy with God, we make the withdraw of that miracle from the account.

For example, I tweaked my shoulder at the gym on Monday night. I couldn’t really do much with it. I’ve had problems with this shoulder since high school, it’s an old football injury that acts up every now and then. Just something that I deal with when it flares up. While receiving prayer for it in my hotel room from one of our other staff members, God spoke something to my heart about adequacy as a son. My shoulder still hurt but I just pressed into the spiritual truth that God was speaking to me in that moment. After about 10 minutes of pressing into that spiritual truth, I lifted my arms over my head to stretch, not even thinking about the fact that it was hurting. Low and behold, the pain was gone! I had pressed into the spiritual truth that God was speaking and the increase of intimacy in that moment tapped into the miracle that God had for healing.

That’s all I’ve got right now guys, it was a short one today but I hope you’re blessed by it. It was drafted pretty late after a night of worshipping early into the morning with the students. More testimonies to come tonight! Thanks again for all of the support.
